This popular Taipei day trip is not one fixed itinerary. Klook currently offers daytime and night-Jiufen routes, packages with or without Golden Waterfall, shorter Shifen-and-Jiufen combinations, and private options.
Compare route, stops and pickup first. For current Klook savings, search ICHI or ICHIKLOOK in the Klook app and tap ICHI. The ICHI Klook Kreator Shop opens with city collections first; scroll down to the current vouchers and redeem the relevant offer. Then continue with Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen day tour in Klook. Klook checkout determines the final eligible price.
Shop first: redeeming a Shop voucher does not guarantee it will apply to every booking or combine with an existing sale. Klook checkout decides the final eligible discount.
Direct-code fallback: ICHIKLOOK is also a separate direct creator code for eligible bookings. Current direct-code eligibility, caps and validity are maintained in the ICHIKLOOK eligibility guide.

Is the Klook day tour worth booking?
The main reason to book a guided tour is transport efficiency. Yehliu sits on the coast, Jiufen is a hillside town, and Shifen is on the Pingxi rail corridor. Visiting all three independently in one day normally requires several trains, buses, taxis, or private transfers. A tour replaces that coordination with one meeting point, one vehicle, and a fixed return.
The trade-off is time. A multi-stop route gives only a sample of each place. Yehliu can feel short if you want to walk beyond the most famous formations. Jiufen can feel rushed when you want a teahouse meal or unhurried photography. Shifen can also split your time between the old street, a lantern activity, and the waterfall.
| Trip style | Best for | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Join-in day tour | First-time visitors who want the three major stops in one booking | Fixed schedule, group waiting, limited time at each place |
| Night-Jiufen route | Travelers prioritizing lantern-lit streets and evening atmosphere | Later return, fewer daylight views, changing shop hours |
| Private tour | Families, small groups, older travelers, and flexible pickup needs | Usually costs more and still depends on road and crowd conditions |
| DIY trip | Travelers who want more time in one or two destinations | More transfers and a difficult three-stop schedule |
Which current Klook route fits your day?
The current Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, Shifen and Golden Waterfall Day Tour lists join-in and private choices with displayed durations of about 7 hours 15 minutes to 9 hours 45 minutes. Current route filters include Yehliu, Shifen and Jiufen; a night-Jiufen version; a Golden Waterfall route; and shorter Shifen-and-Jiufen combinations.
The cleanest one-day overview. It covers geological scenery, a railway old street, and a mountain town without adding every optional coastal stop.
Useful when the route also includes the Yin-Yang Sea or Shuinandong area and the extra stops do not reduce your priority time too much.
Choose this for lanterns and a later mountain-town visit, not because it automatically includes more sightseeing.
Confirm whether pickup and drop-off are flexible, which stops are fixed, and whether admission and guide services differ from the join-in package.
Do not confuse Shifen Old Street with Shifen Waterfall
Shifen Old Street is the railway-side area known for shops and sky-lantern experiences. Shifen Waterfall is a separate scenic area that requires additional travel and walking. A package can include one without the other, so the word “Shifen” in a title is not enough.
New Taipei City currently lists Shifen Waterfall Park hours as 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM from June through September, with final entry at 5:30 PM. From October through May, the published hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with final entry at 4:30 PM. Special closures and operating changes can still override those hours.
| Shifen stop | What it means | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Shifen Old Street | Railway-side street, food, shops, lantern vendors, and short free time | Whether a sky lantern is included or purchased separately |
| Shifen Waterfall | Separate waterfall park with paths and viewing platforms | Whether the route includes it, walking time, and seasonal closing time |
| Both stops | A fuller Shifen visit | How much time is allocated to each and whether the overall day becomes rushed |
What each main stop adds to the tour
Yehliu Geopark
Yehliu is the coastal geology stop. Taiwan’s tourism authority describes the cape as roughly 1,700 meters long, with formations shaped by erosion, weathering, and earth movement. The famous Queen’s Head is only one part of the site. A short group stop may focus on the best-known formations, while a longer independent visit gives more time for the outer sections.
Check whether admission is included and follow the marked paths. Coastal wind, heat, rain, slippery surfaces, crowd control, and special operating notices can affect the visit.
Jiufen
Jiufen is the food, tea, mountain-town, and viewpoint stop. It is also the place most affected by crowds, narrow lanes, stairs, rain, and traffic restrictions. Daytime routes are better for sea and mountain views. Evening routes emphasize lanterns and atmosphere but can have reduced visibility and changing shop schedules.
If a teahouse is your main reason for going, a fixed day tour may not provide enough time for a long seating. Read the timetable instead of assuming “Jiufen stop” means a full meal and sunset.
Shifen
Shifen adds the railway-town experience. The most important package question is whether the stop includes only free time, a lantern voucher, a specified lantern color, or a guided activity. Lanterns, food, souvenirs, and personal purchases should be treated as excluded unless the package states otherwise.
Golden Waterfall and nearby viewpoints
Golden Waterfall is often paired with the Yin-Yang Sea and the historic mining landscape around Shuinandong. These are usually short photo or roadside stops, not long walking visits. They add variety but also consume time that could otherwise be spent at Yehliu or Jiufen.
Compare the package, not only the tour title
| Booking detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Route order | Daylight, traffic, crowds, and closing times affect the experience at each stop |
| Duration | Current options range by route, package, and return point |
| Meeting point | The live listing shows meet-at-location choices around central Taipei, including Taipei Main Station or East Gate 3 depending on package |
| Return point | Some options may return to Taipei Main Station or another specified central drop-off |
| Guide language | English and Chinese availability can depend on the selected date or vehicle |
| Admission | Confirm Yehliu Geopark entry and any other paid attractions |
| Sky lantern | Confirm whether it is included, discounted, or purchased independently |
| Meals | Jiufen food and teahouse expenses are often personal purchases |
| Cancellation | Read the exact deadline, local time, weather treatment, and no-show rule |
Who should think carefully before booking?
Yehliu has outdoor paths, Jiufen has slopes and stairs, and Shifen Waterfall adds more walking. Confirm the exact route and assistance available.
Repeated boarding, crowds, weather, stairs, and fixed meeting times may matter more than the number of attractions.
The Jiufen and Northeast Coast portions can involve curving mountain and coastal roads. Use only the motion-sickness preparation that is appropriate for you.
Traffic, weather, late group members, and route changes can affect the return time. Leave a generous buffer.
How to Check Klook Tour Deals and Vouchers for Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen day tour
- Resolve the booking decision first. Route order, guided vs DIY, pickup, duration, waterfall/lantern stops, return time.
- Search ICHI or ICHIKLOOK in the Klook app. Do not rely on a generic web search or assume one direct code is the only available saving.
- Tap ICHI. ICHI is the result that opens the ICHI Klook Kreator Shop.
- Scroll to the current vouchers. The Shop opens with city collections first; scroll down and redeem the relevant current offer.
- Continue the booking in Klook. Return to Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen day tour and select the redeemed voucher where eligible.
- Confirm the final Klook checkout price. Live checkout determines eligibility, combination rules and the amount you actually pay.
Direct-code fallback: ICHIKLOOK is also a separate direct creator code for eligible bookings. Keep this route secondary and use the direct-code eligibility and limits for current direct-code terms.

Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen tour FAQs
How do I check current Klook deals for Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen day tour?
Search ICHI or ICHIKLOOK in the Klook app and tap ICHI. The Shop opens with city collections first; scroll down and redeem the relevant current voucher, then continue with Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen day tour in Klook and confirm the final checkout price.
Can I still use ICHIKLOOK as a direct Klook promo code?
Yes. ICHIKLOOK remains a separate direct creator code for eligible bookings, but it is a secondary route. Check the ICHI Klook Kreator Shop first and use the canonical Klook promo-code guide for current direct-code eligibility, caps and validity.
Is the Yehliu Geopark entrance ticket included in the Klook tour?
It depends on the selected package. Some tours include attraction admission while others collect or exclude it. Read the package inclusions and voucher rather than assuming the day-tour price covers every entrance ticket.
Is a sky lantern included at Shifen?
Not always. A tour may stop at Shifen Old Street without including the lantern itself. Check whether the selected package includes a lantern, a voucher, a specific color option, or only free time to buy the experience separately.
Does every route include Shifen Waterfall?
No. Shifen Old Street and Shifen Waterfall are separate stops, and not every route includes both. Check the stop list carefully, especially when comparing shorter tours, night-Jiufen routes, and Golden Waterfall packages.
Should I choose daytime Jiufen or night Jiufen?
Choose daytime Jiufen for clearer views, easier navigation, and more predictable shop access. Choose night Jiufen for lantern-lit streets and atmosphere, while accepting a later return and possible changes in shop hours, visibility, and transport timing.
Is a Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen tour suitable for travelers with limited mobility?
The day can involve uneven paths, slopes, stairs, crowded old streets, and repeated vehicle boarding. Ask the operator about walking distance, vehicle access, wheelchair storage, assistance, and whether your selected route includes Shifen Waterfall before booking.
Where does the Klook Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen tour depart?
The current listing shows a meet-at-location format with Taipei departure choices, including Taipei Main Station or East Gate 3 depending on the package. Confirm the exact map pin, reporting time, language group, and return point in the voucher.
Can I visit Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen independently instead?
Yes, but covering all three in one day requires several rail, bus, taxi, or private-transfer connections. DIY works best when you want more time in one or two places. A guided tour is easier when the priority is seeing several Northeast Coast stops in one day.
What should I bring on the tour?
Bring walking shoes with grip, water, sun and rain protection, a light layer, a charged phone, and any motion-sickness preparation you normally use. Recheck the weather, meeting point, operator message, and final return point before leaving your hotel.
Final tip
Choose the route before choosing the promotion. The classic three-stop tour is the cleanest first visit, while Golden Waterfall and night Jiufen should be added only when they improve the day you actually want.
