Seomyeon is the only station where Lines 1 and 2 cross — if you stay there, you can reach anywhere on one transfer or less. Base fare is ₩1,500 (~₱62). Use T-Money card for automatic fare deduction.
🚖 Taxis — Kakao T is the Key App
Download Kakao T before arriving (set it up at home, not at the airport). You can call taxis in English, pay by credit card, and track the route. Rideshare rates are fair: most tourist-area trips are ₩5,000–15,000 (~₱200–600). Taxis are metered, drivers generally honest. If a driver refuses to use the meter, exit and flag a new one. Airport to Seomyeon by taxi: approx. ₩25,000–30,000 during the day.
🚌 City Buses — For Outer Areas
Busan’s bus network is extensive but harder to navigate without Korean. For places the metro doesn’t reach (Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Dadaepo Beach, some blossom spots), buses are the way. Use Naver Maps to get bus numbers and stop names. T-Money works on all buses. Fare is ₩1,500 base. The Haedong Yonggungsa Temple bus from Haeundae or Jangsan metro station is a common tourist route.

Gamcheon Culture Village: Bus 1-1, 2, or 2-2 from Toseong-dong bus stop (near Toseong Station, Line 1) or bus 88 from Saha-gu Office. Or Kakao T taxi to the village entrance saves a lot of walking. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple: Bus 181 from Haeundae Station (Exit 3) or Bus 100/100-1 from Jangsan Station. No metro directly. Dadaepo Beach / Sunset Fountain: Dadaepo Beach Station (Line 1). 20 min walk or short bus to the fountain show area.

BIFF Square is Busan’s film festival boulevard — star footprints and street food vendors. Adjacent Gukje Market is a covered alley market with clothing, food, and local goods. The most beautifully situated temple in Korea — built on coastal cliffs with waves crashing below. About 30 minutes from Haeundae by bus or taxi. Free to enter. Best at sunrise. Note for seniors: getting there requires a long walk from the bus stop or a taxi ride directly to the gate — and the temple itself has many stairs along the coastal path. Manage expectations for mobility.

Sweet pancake stuffed with seeds, honey, and cinnamon-brown sugar — served in a paper cup for ₩2,000. The vendors at BIFF Square always have a queue and it’s always worth it. You need one.
Bupyeong Market — 24-Hour Night Market (부평시장)
One of Korea’s rare 24-hour traditional markets. The food section comes alive late at night — pajeon, tteokbokki, sundae, and cheap local eats. Very local, very affordable.
Haeundae Raw Fish Town — Hoedong (회동)
Dedicated alley of raw fish restaurants near Haeundae. Order a platter of Korean-style sashimi (hoe) served with lettuce wraps, sesame oil, and spicy dipping sauce. About ₩30,000–60,000 per person.

Daejeo Ecological Park & Nakdong River Blossom Road
The single best blossom spot in Busan — kilometres of riverside cherry trees. Daejeo Ecological Park and the Nakdong River 30-ri Cherry Blossom Road at full bloom will genuinely stop you in your tracks. Far from the city center, but this is the one that most people say they regret missing.
Oncheoncheon Cherry Blossom Tunnel
A stream-side walking path in Dongrae that forms a full tunnel of cherry blossom trees. One of the most romantic blossom walks in Busan. Easy to reach from Oncheon-cheon Metro Station.
Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Road (Samik Beach Town)
A long blossom-lined street in Gwangalli/Namcheon — gorgeous tunnel of trees. Very photogenic and reachable by subway. Best in the early morning.
Haeundae Dalmaji Hill
The winding coastal road up Dalmaji Hill is lined with cherry trees — spectacular during blossom season with ocean views. Walk up or take the road to the cliffside cafes (Edge993).
Busan Citizens Park (Bujeon)
Large urban park in the Bujeon/Seomyeon area with extensive blossom trees and family-friendly flat paths. Accessible by metro, good for a quick blossom walk.

📍 All three destinations below are feasible as day trips from Busan without an overnight stay. Gyeongju is the most popular — book the KTX in advance during spring and autumn peak.
Gyeongju 경주 — Korea’s Ancient Capital

Gyeongju was the capital of the Silla Kingdom for nearly 1,000 years. Royal burial mounds sit in the middle of the city like parks. The historic core is walkable: Tumuli Park, Cheomseongdae Observatory (oldest in Asia), and Anapji Pond. Bulguksa Temple and the Seokguram Grotto are UNESCO World Heritage Sites — get there early, these fill up fast. Gyochon Traditional Village has hanok stays and makgeolli brewing alleys. This is a full-day trip — plan at least 8 hours. The KTX ride is 1 hour from Busan Station. Book tickets early; they sell out on weekends and during cherry blossom season.
Tongyeong 통영 — The Naples of Korea

Tongyeong is a coastal city on the southern tip of the peninsula with an island-hopping culture and a seafood scene that rivals Busan. The Hallyeo Waterway Cable Car gives panoramic views of hundreds of islands. Dongpirang Mural Village is Tongyeong’s version of Gamcheon, smaller and quieter. Lunch on raw oysters, conch stew, and bibimbap at the covered fish market before heading back. Take the express bus from Busan’s Seobu Bus Terminal (Sasang, Line 2). No direct bus from the airport — get to Sasang first.
Ulsan 울산 — Taehwagang River & Whale Museum

Ulsan surprises people. The Taehwagang Grand Park is one of Korea’s most beautiful urban river parks, especially during bamboo festival season and winter when migratory birds arrive. The Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village has an actual whale museum and a recreated old whaling village — a genuinely different kind of attraction. Ulsan is also the gateway to Ganjeolgot Cape, the easternmost point of the Korean mainland, famous for the first sunrise of the year. Express bus or KTX from Busan Station to Ulsan KTX Station, then local transit to sights.

You fly into Gimhae International Airport (PUS) in Busan directly — not Incheon. From Manila: Philippine Airlines operates PR460 and PR462 daily (~3h50m). From Cebu: Jin Air, Air Busan, and Jeju Air fly multiple times per week (~4h30m). Verify current schedules on Google Flights before booking as these change seasonally.
4–5 days covers all the major highlights: Gamcheon, Gwangalli, Haeundae, Jagalchi Market, Spa Land, and Skyline Luge. 7 days gives you room to slow down, do a Gyeongju day trip, and properly explore the cafe scene. If combining with Seoul, plan at least 3 full days in Busan to do it justice.
